I debated giving this review 4 stars but simply couldn’t bring myself to do so based on my own inadequacies. I’ll explain:
The quality of machining of this product and the quality of materials used is second to none. I have no doubt about the quality of sound suppression should I ever be able to fully complete my form 1.
Unfortunately, even with the drill jig and provided bit, it’s not quite as easy as I’ll just drill this and go shoot. At least not for me, a non-machinist, and probably not for the majority of people who would buy this kit.
With my hand drill I just managed to punch through the first baffle when the bit caught on the edges of the half punched baffle due to lack of torque in the drill and I had to give up. I then got access to a drill press and made it through the rest of the way. Awesome, this will be easy I thought. I made it half way into the second baffle and the bit just stopped cutting. I pressed forward (my mistake) and the baffle and bit got way too hot. To the point I work hardened the baffle steel. The provided bit was dulled beyond use. I then burned up 2 more bits trying to make it through before doing some research online and realizing none of the equipment I had would turn a slow enough rate to not burn up bits and moving forward with drilling the rest would be futile. So now I’m in the process of trying to get ahold of some carbide and/or more cobalt bits and access to a lathe or some other piece of equipment to drill out these 17-4 steel baffles and complete my legal form 1. Long story short, don’t be like me and assume this will be cake just because you see an easy DIY video online. Do your research and do it right. I’m hoping I don’t have a ruined baffle. You’ll also need more than 1 bit or the ability to sharpen said bit. And don’t run the bits at high speed and smoke them. This 17-4 steel is harder than Superman’s kneecaps but I haven’t accepted defeat… yet…

This thing oozes quality. I’m still waiting on my approved Form 1, but this can arrived today. The workmanship is flawless and it is built like a tank. I mounted it on my rifle and it’s noticeably there, but in a good way. The heft tells me it’s well built, and I’m looking forward to shooting it. If you are looking for an excellent 556/223 can to form 1, this is it!

I purchased this kit to be used on a number of my firearms. Still waiting on my Form 1, but I have received the kit. This thing is built ROCK SOLID! and the quality is unbelievably good. I have complete confidence in utilizing this kit on any of my rifles. I’m always happy to support American businesses who employ average joes like myself and produce excellent products. Will definitely be returning, thanks Quietbore / Creative Arms.

Absolutely love this can! I submitted a form 1 a few days before ordering. I ordered the kit and jig. The quality is very good, some complain of weight and yes it is heavier than some cans. However with that said I don’t feel it is too heavy. I used a drill press with a cross vise along with some PB Blaster as a lubricant. The drill bit provided worked well. It is still in good shape and could probably finish another kit with it still. The only issue I ran into was the steel bushing somehow got caught on the bit and spun in the jig to the point it came out. More lubrication may have helped prevent this. Thinking it was caused by thermal expansion of the bit. However I was able to just use some permatex sleeve retainer to glue it in place and tapped it back in with a small hammer. I haven’t been able to weigh it completed but I will say it performs very well! On a Howa Mini Action in 300 Blackout it is very quiet! This was my first ever attempt at doing a form 1 and I would say it’s very easy to do at home with no need for a lathe or a mill. Highly recommend!

I picked this can up wanting something easy for my first form 1 . Was debating between this one and a wtt still going to pick one up tho . And I had to buy a dewalt drill bit and it cut through the baffles with ease much easier then the one they send with the jig . And after shooting it for a while now I am very pleased with the performance of this can. On my 300 blk out it’s definitely hearing safe and I love how quiet it makes the gun . And on my ar 10 308 it is still really quiet I feel like I don’t need hearing protection on either gun and absolutely love running it on my 308 I am really amazed on how well this works. If your wondering if this can preforms good . It does and is well worth it I also clipped my baffles . Single clipped . Shout out to silencer student for all the info he puts out
