I’m not stranger to making my own Form 1 cans, but on a whim I bought this .22 kit (all aluminum) plus the drilling-jig. I have to say that I’m absolutely delighted – the build-quality is excellent, the internals fit snugly and the drilling-jig makes completing the can simplicity itself. Performance is outstanding – CCI Standard velocity ammo (1,070 fps) is incredibly quiet and I can’t recommend this kit enough.

Review for .22LR Solvent Trap
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Bought this solvent trap (all aluminum) for a Ruger 22/45. Once my form 1 (individual) was approved. I used the drill fixture they offered and drilled all the K-cones and end cap. Took less than 30 minutes with a cordless drill and the included drill bit.
Put everything together and shot at an indoor range (I know not so quiet). Was amazed how much quieter my 22/45 is now. I had my kids and wife try it. They found a new love of shooting suppressed guns.
I would recommend this to anyone looking to do a Form 1 suppressor kit with the included drill fixture.

Form 1’d this guy for a Tikka T1X and couldn’t be happier. The jig makes completion as easy as you could imagine. .3 mil POI shift but completely repeatable so not an issue. Rifle still averages .4” at 50 yards and has shot multiple .2’s and .3’s. Fantastic little can and super quiet.

Went with the 22LR titanium and aluminum DIY parts list and they rock solid. Far exceeded my expectations in quality and performance!! Also had attentive customer service!

Absolutely love it!! Form 1 took no time. Less than 30 days. With subsonic ammo this thing is amazing!

I love how well this thing is put together; I’ll *never again* have to worry about my bore solvent leaking onto my workbench or garage floor. The cups are great for storing miscellaneous items, and they are held securely in place with tight tolerances. Major this up for using standard tools to unscrew the endcaps. The weight is also quite reasonable and keeps the gun not-too-muzzle-heavy for those intense, all-day cleaning sessions. I got mine engraved so I can easily tell which caliber gun I should use with which trap. Great response time over email. My one suggestion is to take a little more time to align the engraver to the tube, as mine was a wee bit crooked.

Love this kit. Easy to use and well manufactured. quality materials. Solid build. Exceptional performance. Only 30 days for the form1. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great kit. Went together perfect. Preston answered all my questions. Works great on pistol and rifle with subs and regular velocity ammo. I got the drill fixture and it makes things very easy.
Thanks

Form 1ed this little gem. The drill jig makes things simple. Performance is on par with similar commercial cans, shot them side by side with an Element 2 and a Mask HD. The engraving service was reasonably priced, quick and nicely done. Great customer service, quality workmanship on all of the parts.
Thanks

Fantastic! I got my form 1, this is my first, drilled it (took longer than expected to complete, but not more than a couple hours using a power drill + jig + vice) and fired it. Super quiet running subs through my 10/22 and anything out of a Walther PPK 22lr – ordering another so each has it’s own and am now confident I can go up in caliber from here. If you’re on the fence, don’t be!

Love mine works as good as my commercial suppressor

First and foremost I do have a approved form 1 from the atf! I bought my first .22 can about 2 months ago and waited 30 days to get approved. Once that was complete I finished the product with the drill fixture and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I compared it side by side same gun and ammo as my buddies war lock 2 and they had nearly identical results, we were both impressed! I built mine with the first baffle titanium then aluminum as the remaining 7. I’ve put Around 600 rounds threw it so far And I can’t be happier with this!

This is hands-down THE way to go when getting a .22 suppressor. Less than a one month wait time for an eForm 1 and about 30 minutes to drill the center holes with the jig and you’ve got a suppressor! I bought this while waiting on a Form 4 and now I wish I had just canceled the Form 4 and bought two of these. I went with Titanium baffles so I could use “the dip”/ultrasonic cleaner/rotary tumbler for easier cleaning as opposed to Aluminum baffles. Given how much I like to shoot .22, this was definitely the right choice. I’ve never worked with Titanium (and my general metal working knowledge is lacking to say the least) so I wound up having to use a couple drill bits to get through all eight cups. This was most likely my fault since I just kept pressing harder on the drill when it seemed to stop cutting. I only wish the end cap and tube could be optioned as titanium or steel so I could toss them in with the baffles but both are easy enough to clean with some Hoppes and a brush. After drilling, my total weight came out to 3.9 ounces with titanium baffles. I will almost certainly purchase a 9mm kit in the coming months now that I have a host for it and have discovered the joy of electronic Form 1s.
I really cannot recommend QuietBore enough. Between the drilling jig, engraving service, and how much faster eForm 1s are I just can’t imagine ever paying the premium and waiting up to a year for a commercial can via a Form 4.

At first, I was skeptical. While the fit and finish were beautiful. It appeared small. Much smaller than any of my other Rimfire cans. The tolerances on the jig are perfect and thoughtfully crafted. Not just for the K baffles, but for the end cap.
I’ve ran it on my RPR, 10/22 and Borge dedicated AR22s.
Runs equally as quiet a can which costed me double.
I highly recommend their product. I will order again from them. Doing a form 1 is way faster than waiting over 9 months for a brand name suppressor from a dealer!

First time builder on a Form 1- the kit with the jig makes it so simple. The performance of the can is amazing and very much on par or better than some manufactured cans, at a much lower cost (even when buying the jig). Very satisfied customer!

Well first off buying from the website was very easy. Shipping, well It’s slow right now, and the “cough cough” is what being blamed. So expect to wait close to a month for your items. Ok, the product arrives and I will say it’s packaged damn perfect! Alright the actual can and components are awesome this kit looks and feels every bit as good as the cans that cost 3-4 times as much. Form one took about 30 days to get also so I was actually surprised on that one. Where I messed up was not getting the drilling jig. I figured I had the tools and know how to do it and I was wrong. Messed up the first cup lol. So I re ordered two cups and the jig and now waiting again. So, if you order there kit order the jig also and make sure you get your paperwork in order. There product is top notch I will give them that and I will order from them again in the future. Thank you quiet bore!!

I own three .22 cans from some of the big manufacturers (Gemtech, SWR, and SilencerCo.) but I wanted a couple more so I wouldn’t have to keep moving them around from host to host so much so I ordered a couple of the Quietbore .22 solvent traps. Just over two weeks after I mailed in my fingerprint cards, my Forms 1 were approved and out came the drill.
The result is that I cannot detect a performance difference between these two Quietbore solvent trap conversion cans and the ones I have from well regarded manufacturers. I paid for the engraving service on each and it was well worth it! Looks great!
I was so impressed that I then ordered the 9mm and the 5.56/30 solvent traps from Quietbore as well. Just received them and am very impressed with the design and build quality.
A very fun project and the eForms Form 1 process is MUCH quicker than paper Form 1. Thank you Quietbore!!!

Very happy with my Ti kit, solvent cups are high quality and very clean looking. It’s super light weight and seems to have a good sound reduction, although I don’t have a manufactured 22 to compare. For the cost and quickness I am extremely happy with my purchase.

I currently own two of Preston’s .22 cans purchased about three months apart. First can has two titanium baffles and the rest are aluminum. The titanium baffles mouse holes on this can were not completely cut through and required quite a bit of file work. The second can purchased 3 month later has all titanium baffles because it it being used for .22 WRM, .17 HMR, and .17 H2. In the months between purchases Preston changed the mouse hole style and all baffles were machine perfectly. Both cans perform on par with the AAC Element and Ruger silent-SR. Currently with a one month waiting period on Form 1’s the Quietbore .22 can is the way to go. This kit is without a doubt the best .22 can currently on the market in the 5 to 6 in range. Now actually getting a response to one of your emails is a different story unless that issues has been address in the past two months. Absolutely would recommend and would buy again.

I’m extremely pleased with this Form 1 22 Cal suppressor. It is lightweight, small, and looks professionally made. Filing my form 1 was a breeze, and the engraving service is a nice easy way to have the solvent trap ready to convert when you get approval. Overall, this thing performs beyond my expectations. It is extremely quiet with both sub and supersonic 22LR.

Too bad I didn’t learn about form 1 kits until AFTER I already purchased 3 form 4 suppressors. I could’ve saved myself so much money…
Anyway. It took exactly 20 days for form 1 approval. I turned it in to QB, they shipped it out 5 business days later. From start (filling out form 1 to getting product) to finish it took 33 days!!!
Got the product (.22 with titanium cups), came with 2 very nice stickers (lol- you guys should sell these, I’d buy more). Anyway, drilling through titanium took much longer than I thought it would. From start to finish, maybe 2 hours of slow work for all 8 baffles. To be safe, I ordered a second drill bit from mcmaster-carr (I’d recommend you also do so if you have the titaniums). I used a vice, a corded drill (my 18v wasn’t cutting it- use a 20v or corded drill), tap magic oil/lube, compressor and compressed air tool, shopvac, a whole bunch of nitrile gloves and shop towels. Steel end cap was obviously super easy, but the titainium cups took a long while. The first one was easy while the bit was sharp, but right after the next cup took a good chunk of time as to not overheat the bit. Like I said, took me 2 hours thereabouts to finish the work.
It should be noted, if you look directly through the finished and assembled can, the holes will be offset a bit (won’t align completely flush) I’m guessing that is intentional? I looked at the quietbore 22 fixture youtube vid and the shot of the drilled cup looks similar to mine so yeah, guessing that is just how it is designed.
Take your time with the titanium and enjoy the finished product. Unfortunately this is one of my Xmas presents to myself so I won’t be able to shoot it until after Christmas.

Very high-quality kit. Once I had a form one approved, I did the work to convert my kit to be functional for sound suppression. It works well. The only improvement I could suggest would be the inclusion of a spacer to replace the first K cup to create an expansion chamber.

First Form 1 .22 suppressor, super quiet. Tried it on my CMR30 and am very impressed, quieted the 22 Mag to about 22 short report. Quiets my semi auto 22s to the same as a pellet gun (sound of the action cycling and my single shot to “Hollywood” quiet. I made the right choice in Quiet Bore.

If you ever have a problem with your kit the service department (Zach) goes above and beyond to get you back to shooting suppressed, I can’t thank them enough.

Form 1 oked in 19 days. Ordered .22 titanium kit on April 8. At my door on the 10th. Looks great, fit and finish. Used a cummings drill press at 300 rpm with a steady stream of chloride brake clean. Cut right through in 6-8 seconds. Still cutting good on last one. Sounds like a BB gun. Looks great on my Kal-Tec 33. Engraving looks great. Could not have gone any better.

From start to finish this took 3 weeks. ATF EForm 1 was 2 weeks before approval which had me extremely excited. My last tax stamp was almost a year before this. Got the 22 Jig as well and it worked like a dream with my hand drill, vice, and some WD40. Having never fired 22lr suppressed it wound up louder than I expected even with subsonic rounds. My 300blk, has a much bigger can but; is quite a bit less noisy. Overall very happy with this product and turn around time. I did buy the 9mm form 1 kit as well and will submit my review after I have time to take it to the range with some subsonic ammo. Honestly, I wish I could make this 4.5 stars (only because the noise level is higher than expected) but that’s not an option on the page. I would absolutely recommend the product and purchase from you guys in the future!

I got my form 1 approved an drilled the baffles and end cap today. I am extremely happy with the result! The quality of the product is very good. The engraving is well done. The jig makes the drilling process easy. I fired 1 round without the silencer and then 9 rounds with it. The difference is astounding!. Very happy customer. For the price, ease of build and shorter time of a form 1, this is the only way to go. By the way my form 1 time was 23 days!!
Ryan –
4.5 stars I purchased both the aluminum and titanium kit while they were on sale along with the drilling fixture. Form 1 took 18 and 22 days respectively. The build quality of everything is much better than I anticipated. No complaints there. The aluminum kit can be done with a hand drill and a little bit of gun oil. With the titanium kit I would highly recommend using an actual drill press and proper cutting oil. I cannot stress that enough.
The can once completed on a single shot rifle reduces the report tremendously. Once it gets a little dirty the first round pop does seem to completely go away with a rifle.
As for pistols there is a noticeable first round pop and the can is no where near as quiet as any of my high end Form 4 silencers. For the money and quick ATF turnaround this is a tough deal to beat.
I will for sure use this can for pistol shooting and plinking, but will utilize my high end suppressors for hunting and precision shooting. All in all it’s a great deal, you’ll enjoy it regardless I guarantee it.

Submitted my eform 1 individual and then ordered the titanium 22 kit. Got my approved eform 1 back 20 days later and then submitted my approval to QB. They had it to me the next day and the day after that I was shooting it.
I ordered extra bits after reading about people struggling with the 22lr Ti kit but didn’t end up needing them. I went slow and used a bunch of lube. All I used was a 12v Milwaukee drill, lots of wd40 and a vise. I let the drill and bit cool down periodically. I would still suggest ordering an extra bit or 2 just to give you the piece of mind if you go Ti.
I tested the can on my beretta 21a and it was stupid quiet with cci subs. I just ordered a 9mm kit from QB. I am still waiting on a rugged razor 7.62 that I bought in September. Form 1 is the way to go and I would highly recommend this company.
QB’s strict form 1 submitting policy gives me piece of mind and also it allows them to have customer support and tutorials.
