FAQ
Edited 10/19/2020
What better way to answer most of your questions than to make a solid FAQ Post?!

A: It is the materials needed to construct your own suppressor. These are not suppressor parts, they are pre-machined components that allow you to build your own suppressor.

A: Form 1, Application to Make and Register a Firearm which is then Filed by an individual or entity to get approval to make and register an NFA firearm. (Short Barreled Rifle, Short Barreled Shotgun, Suppressor, and Other NFA Items) this application can be completed via a paper application or more popular completion via the eforms.atf.gov website
Q: Do I need an ATF Form 1 before I have your product?
A: To purchase our kits. and key components you will be required to submit an Approved Form 1 and government issued ID before. your order will ship..

Hello, is my order still being processed? Noticed you received some new equipment in the last email a few weeks back.
Thanks!

Can you do one end of the 30 cal tube with standardized threads 1.375 x 24 tpi ? Special order?
Unfortunately not at this time
What is involved when converting a solvent trap to a suppressor after getting the atf form approved?
Dreday,
once approved you must have the tube engraved in some sort to ATF requirements, then machine the internals and exit cap to allow for a bullet to pass through properly.
With your all’s 9 mm kit it says it’s 22 long to 9 mm so does that mean you can shoot a 22 magnum as well I’d like to put it on a 22 magnum that I have and a 9 millimeter
yessir
I’m interested in your .45 ACP product. I have an FNX Tactical .45 and am wondering which boosters/pistons would be compatible. Can you provide that info to me via email please? Thanks!
.578×28 as that is what FN’s website states.
Do you have a 45 caliber end cap for an H&K USP tactical I believe the thread is 16X1 LH ?
yup! under the 45 booster housing w/piston
Kind of wondering the same thing as Mr. Levins. We used to get email updates about the inner workings behind the scenes and now it’s all gone quiet. Any news on the next shipment?
just sent emails Monday and posted on the form 1 pages and quiet bore page
what is the outside diameter of your steel and aluminum 9mm baffles +/- .002? What aluminum and steel is used for turn your baffles?
1.115 and 6061 Aluminum, Ill have to go check on the stainless grade but I believe 304
Do you make a muzzle brake, threaded on the outside and an end cap that threads into your 30 Cal solvent trap?
working on it!
What’s the difference in the 5.56 and .30cal jig? Is it just a different bit or are the jigs different too?
Thanks!
The tops are different to use a different drill bit and drill bushing
Do you ship to Canada?
Unfortunately with the recent changes in Canada’s firearms policies we do not
Do you have any decibel rating for your can on a 300 blackout with subsonic ammo? It would be nice to see the suppressor in action. Your instructional videos are well done and informative.
I have my QB on a 300 Blackout AR pistol build with a 7″ barrel. I run 220 gr subsonic ammo. Although not “Hollywood” quiet, it really does a great job of suppressing the muzzle blast. I get more noise from the gasses escaping the opening action and the noise of the bolt cycling than muzzle noise. Also a half second later the bullet slapping whatever it hits. It’s a game changer. I’m considering a 300 Blackout bolt gun to see how quiet these will go.
Would it be possible to get the 9mm trap but with 5/8×24 entrance cap? Or should I just get the 45 cal kit? It would be nice if the 45 kit had a jig to drill out for 9mm instead of 45… or wouldn’t there be an appreciable difference in noise levels?
Thanks!
Do you plan to make a drill fixture for a 6.5 grendel? Needs to be 21/64, the 30 cal includes a 25/64 which is too big.
The difference you get in sound suppression by only drilling it out to accommodate 6.5 bullets as opposed to the standard 30 cal diameter is negligible. Thats why you hardly, if ever, see commercial cans made specific to intermediate rifle calibers between 223 and 30 cal.
If you’re dead-set getting a 21/64 drilling jig, i advise buying the 223 jig and taking it to a machine shop to be resized. It isn’t financially beneficial for a company to make a 6.5 drilling jig, with the difference in performance being so insignificant.
With all that being said, I wouldn’t hold me breath waiting on a 6.5 jig.
I’m looking at a 30/5.56 kit, but would like to drill it to 9mm for a multipurpose trap. Is there a way to adapt the 1.5″ tube to a 9mm ar?
.45: 300 BLK (sub only)
5.56/30: 5.56 – 300 Win
So which one is good for non-sub 300 BLK? Say…147 gn. Guessing 5.56/30? Thanks.
I have my QB 5.56/.30 cal on a 300 Blackout AR pistol build with a 7″ barrel. I run mostly 220 gr subsonic ammo but have run the lighter supersonic rounds with no issues. The lighter rounds are way more accurate and have the sonic crack with little muzzle blast. I can shoot them without hear protection but I’m already half deaf. You can hear the supersonic rounds slap whatever they hit over the muzzle blast.
place two orders one for a 22 trap and other for a drill jig, I have not heard anything about shipment or when I will get the product.
Check your spam emails. We send weekly email updates
i’ve never got no email with no updates on nothing been a month now
Looking for one of these for a PSA AR-10 6.5 Creedmoor. Any suggestions appreciated.
our 5.56/30 cal kit should work great on that!
I have a 9 mm kit pending/submitted I’m looking for 1/2×28 End cap could I purchase one from you?
I was curious. I have both an AR-10 in .308 and an AR-15 in 5..56. If I drilled this to work on the .308 could I also use it on the 5.56?
yessir!
When you do get an QD adapter finished and available will they be backwards compatible with previously bought kits?
yessir!
Building a 300 BLK PDW for subsonic only, can I use the 30 Cal Drill Fixture on the .45 Cal Solvent Trap?
unfortunately not, I’d recommend the 5.56/30 cal kit for the 300BLK
Sounds good, I noticed it’s now “out of stockâ€, do you have an idea when they will be back in stock? Do you have a waitlist I can be put on?
Do you ship to all States?
yes, as solvent traps are not a regulated item.
IT,S BEEN 5 WEEKS AND HEARD NOTHING ????????
We sent out an mass email earlier this week.
Hi, I placed an order 8/9 for an all aluminum .22 trap with engraving and did not receive the mass email, can you provide any updates as far as approximately what order dates are currently shipping? I understand mine likely is not yet just wondering where you’re at
3-4 weeks as our website states…
i have been waiting 8 WEEKS only one reply after i requested one
Looking for a .308 solvent trap. Do you do this caliber?
yep, the 5.56/30 cal kit
I am interested in the 9mm kit and I am curious whether I can replace some of the aluminum filters for steel in an effort to have a longer lasting can.
absolutely, they are close in design so it should make it an easy switch!
Once a booster has been installed on an approved form 1 9mm kit, is there a suggested process to remove the inner collar in order to reinsert the 2 baffles so that I can move the can to a rifle? or would it be ok to fire it from a rifle with the booster still attached?
you can do either, however if take the hex cap off and stick the piston down into the booster you can use it to turn the booster out.
( 8 ) WEEK.S NO WORD FROM YOU IF I DON,T HEAR SOMETHING I WILL BE REQUESTING A FULL REFUND
I bought the 5.56/30 cal a while back. (before you had the jig). On a 300BO using sub and supersonic ammo. With and without it on and to be honest I cannot tell much difference. Is it possible I have the cups in backwards? Does it make a difference?
Quietbore team,
thanks for sending out my 9mm trap. its of such great quality i am now thinking of getting the 5.56, however its sold out. just curious if you have a rough guess as to when it may be back available. I am sure you may not have an exact date, but are we talking weeks, months, 6 months? any insight would be helpful. I really dont want to go elsewhere if you may be getting these going again shortly.
thank again!!!!
Do you have anything compatible with a 350 legend?
The 5.56/30 cal can be used for .350 but we do not have a drill fixture size for it currently.
Is the dia of the bit for the 300 the same size as needed for a 308- 7.62?
yessir!
Unfortunately not
Does the 5.56/30 cal kit work for 300 win mag rifles?
sure does!
Does anybody know what quitebore return policy is?
Depends on if you have modified anything or have had it engraved. Email us
Have a 9mm trap. When using the piston/Nielsen device which baffles to do you remove? 2 of the standard baffles and leave the “front†baffle in line behind the piston? Or pull out the “front†baffle and a standard baffle?
Thx
correct, 2 of the aluminum internals
Do you still engrave form 1 kits for free?
Sure do!
Any video available for drilling the 30 cal cups. Apparently you tube has removed your previous posting.
Thanks
Hello, do you ship overseas to Europe? If you do, do I still need an ATF paper?
can the caliber be listed as multi-caliber on a form 1 suppressor?
no, it will need to be a single caliber listed but you can use it on any caliber of your choosing. Its just a requirement for marking and checking.
After drilling the upgraded stainless steel cups for the 30cal. How do you “clip” them. Any diagrams or video.
Hey Charles, I suggest checking out silencer student on Youtube. He’s got a few videos going over clipping for different cals.
