If you are thinking of getting into suppressors, THIS IS THE WAY, for a few reasons: it’s a lot faster, and cheaper than commercial suppressors, and you get the satisfaction of building a user serviceable can in your garage. It took 27 days for my tax stamp (eform) to come in. I ordered my kit from QB on a Wednesday morning, it shipped Friday, arrived Saturday, and I was shooting in on Sunday. I don’t know what else you could ask for from a customer service standpoint. The kit itself is exceptional. Machining is excellent, and the Cerakote finish is superb. Engraving is perfect. Turning the kit into a completed suppressor is a 30 minute job. It took longer to swap the baffles in and out of the jig than to actually drill them out. The jig is simple and easy to use, and the drill bit is a quality piece, not some imported cheap steel junk. As for the drilling, slow speed, a little oil, and light pressure works best. Let the drill bit do the work. Each one drilled through in seconds with ease. The kit has some weight to it, but that is one of the trade offs with ANY suppressor on the end of your barrel. After a few drills I was used to the weight and forgot it was there. POI shift was minimal, and sound suppression was excellent. I don’t have a DB meter and the bullet noise is still too loud for bare ears, but the blast of my 11.5″ SBR is completely gone with this thing. All you hear is the buffer spring and the bullet cracking. The only negative to this entire process is, once you build one, you are going to want to build more. A lot more. So get your paperwork in, order your parts kit from QB, and get busy building cans. Suppress Everything!

This turned out to be a great suppressor and great purchase. If you are contemplating one, I don’t think you will be disappointed. It took 28 days for my form1 to be approved, combined with the price and quality of the kit this is the way to go. I got the 5.56 kit and drilled it out .30 caliber to run on both 300 blk and 5.56. The can looks fantastic, finish is great and the engraving is excellent. Most people think it’s a commercially bought can when they see it. Suppression wise I think it performs great. With 300 subs it is easily hearing safe all day, I was pleasantly surprised. On my 5.56 there is a huge sound reduction. Not sure I’d call it hearing safe for shooting a lot, but considering 5.56 just doesn’t suppress all that well this form1 kit is quite good on it. Very easy to drill if you take your time and drill slow. If you are looking for a fun can that doesn’t break the bank and you can enjoy relatively quick, then this is it. Very pleased and I’ll be doing another form1 kit from here soon.
