Fixture works as advertised. Separating the two halves of the jig can be difficult. I ended up using a flathead to separate after each drilling. Would recommend you purchase an extra drill bit. Using a precision drill press and plenty of oil during the process, the supplied drill bit made it through 4.5 cups before it gave out. An extra bit from a third party will run you around $7.95

Rig works very well….HOWEVER if drilling the TI cups the bit is completely usless as it dulls up fast. If drilling TI go on amazon and buy a 5 pack of quality bits or 1 carbide bit. My bit it came with broke on first cup, it cant handle the pressure and speed needed to properly drill TI. I have the hole in my arm to prove it lol.
So 4 star because bit stinks and scared my arm.

The jig made things very easy, however I bought the Ti kit and had some issues. First I had to over tighten to the point I had issues separating the jig. Also during the process the steel bushing came lose. The bit that came with the Jig was decent, however it was taking about 20-30 Min per cup, and I was unable to find a carbide bit at my local hardware store. The only thing I would have liked different is a better drill bit. Overall it made it a super easy process even with a hand drill

I found the 22LR drilling fixture to be really good. Like others have stated, if you get Titanium cups you will need more than 1 drill bit. I’m sure the aluminum cups can all be easily drilled with one bit. I made it through 4 cups before needing a new bit. I recommend going to Mcmaster and ordering the exact part number as described in the details of the drill fixture. I first ordered replacements through Amazon, and eventhough they were “precision 9/32″ cobalt drill bits” they were oversized and would not fit in the drill fixture bushing. Read, learn, and go order your back-up drill bit(s) as soon as you purchase your drill fixture if you went with Titanium internals.

This kit is pretty excellent, but pay attention to the components offered. I drilled out my aluminum internals and all was simple and clean. Later I moved into Ti territory, things got a bit more complicated. I cut three clean holes and the forth was difficult and the bit pushed some of the baffle through the hole instead of cutting it. QB lists the manufacturer and part number of the bits. I ordered a few and I recommend you do too if you’re going Ti. Take your time and be very generous with the cutting oil. I will relist the part for you below.

Worked perfectly with my hand drill and vice with a generous spray of WD40 for each cup. If you need help they have a great video that goes over everything you need to know about drilling out the baffles. My only recommendation would be an old toothbrush to clear the metal shavings from the fixture after each cup.
